More Research

-bugs have much different nervous system than other species/mammals

-don't have enough brain capacity

-instinct doesn't allow bugs to 'feel' because their entire being is made to survive and reproduce (pain/feelings/emotion do not get in the way of nature's course)

-behavioural observation: bugs do not limp/become paralyzed due to injury, they simply keep trying to get up (further proof)

-insects do not have limbic structures which carry sensation of pain/emotion
